Paint Splatter & Neon Star Nail Tutorial

Here's what you'll need: A top coat (I use Rimmel Base and Top Coat), feature colors for your dots (I have 6), a white.ish base color, star color, nail stamping kit.

First, prep for your manicure, to make it last longer. Remove your old polish, if any, and soak your hands in warm water for a few minutes. Trim your nails and push back your cuticles but don't cut them. Do not use lotions or oils on your hands before you start, it may make the dry time longer.
 Pretty :)
Start with a white.ish color as your base to help make the colors you are about to apply pop!
Add a few dots of color around the nail, place them anywhere.
Add more dots, don't worry about overlapping colors.
Go crazy and add a ton of dots of different color, make sure that your
dots cover all of your base color.
You can apply a top coat and stop here if you'd like, I thought it looked pretty cool.
To continue with the stars take out your stamping kit.
SE22 Salon Express is the disk I used, you can pick it up at Target or online.
Apply your star color to the disk, swipe with the scraper over the polish
then pick it up with the stamper.
Apply the polish on the stamp to your nail.
Apply a coat or two of your top coat and you are done!

  1. I don't understand this stamping part......on the stamp plate, the stars are what pick up the color....but on your nail, only the background has the color (black)

    1. The outline of the star is picked up in the black polish. When you apply your polish to the disk and swipe the extra polish away only the engraved part on the disk gets polish, the stars in the design on the disk are raised so you get cut outs of stars.
